Virginia Sierra Club To Outline Stakes in 2008 Elections
Power2Change Campaign/Report Focused on Clean Energy
On Wednesday, March 26th the Virginia Sierra Club will launch the new
"Power2Change" campaign at the Oakton Library. The Oakton Library is
the first library in Fairfax County to meet the rating criteria of the
Leadership Energy and Environment Design (LEED) program sponsored by
the U.S. Green Building Council, and an ideal setting to launch the
campaign in Virginia. Part of a nine-state effort, the Power2Change
campaign will involve an unprecedented grassroots organizing effort in
the community. To launch the campaign, Sierra Club is releasing a new
report featuring examples of clean and polluting energy sites
including several stories from Virginia. The Power2Change campaign
will conclude with the delivery of collected petition signatures
calling on candidates at all levels, including the Presidential, to
build a clean energy economy.
