Jim Gilmore Likes Exclamation Points!

The latest email from Jim Gilmore proves one thing if nothing else: the man likes exclamation points!

All Eyes On Virginia Senate Race!

In the 2008 elections for the U.S. Senate, the eyes of America are on Virginia. Why? Because if Virginia elects another Democrat to the U.S. Senate the liberal Democrats in the Senate may gain the 60 votes they need to stop filibusters and gain complete procedural control of the Senate.

That means taxes will go up! Government spending will go up! The number of federal rules and restrictions will go up! Support for liberal and union policies will go up. The nation knows that if liberal Mark Warner joins his allies, Ted Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, Chris Dodd and Harry Reid, in the U.S. Senate our nation will make a sharp turn to the left.

Oh! My! God!  That liberal! liberal! liberal Mark Warner is going to raise! your! taxes! Can socialism! communism! be just one step! away?!?

That's right, hysteria, hyperbole, and histrionics  apparently have become the new Gilmore for Senate campaign strategy.  Not a big surprise, given that the man has nothing of any substance to report, unless you count driving Virginia into a fiscal ditch during his governorship.  Or maybe it's that comments like this might be onto something? Could "Sideshow Bob" Marshall actually be leading Jim Gilmore for the Republican nomination?  Now THAT would truly deserve an exclamation point! :)

Who to vote for? Who to vote for...? (Mimi Schaeffer - 3/24/2008 12:45:17 PM)
Geez, who to vote for, the guy who ran Virginia into the ground or the guy who merely ran Prince William County into the ground...?

Government spending and rules and restrictions? (Jack Landers - 3/24/2008 12:49:50 PM)
What cave has Jim Gilmore been living in for the last 7 years?  The Republican party in Washington gave us the largest federal budgets of all time and the largest budget deficits of all time. The number of federal rules and restrictions that we all have to try to keep track of exploded faster under the monopoly Republican government than at any time in American history.

Thanks to Republicans, you now need a law degree just to figure out whether or not you'll be able to board an airplane.

The idea of a Republican making accusations like this against Democrats was plausible 8 years ago. Today, it's absurd.

But apparently it still works (Lowell - 3/24/2008 12:52:03 PM)
in fundraising letters to "the base."

Exactly. (WillieStark - 3/24/2008 1:23:01 PM)
This was a letter to his base. It won't get him any votes he would not have anyway. Who cares. Gilmore is yesterdays Republican

Reminds me of Seinfeld... (Timothy Watson - 3/25/2008 7:43:05 AM)
Anyone have a link to the clip?

Please, (jeffersonian - 3/25/2008 3:40:23 PM)
refer to me as President Gilmore.

Thank you.
