If Senator Clinton is seriously saying "No" to holding a fair election in Florida, and she is serious about denying me a vote in this primary, I am pledging now that I will not vote for her if she wins, in the general election.
The irony of this situation is that she would probably win Florida delegates fair and square if there were another primary - assuming Florida voters don't have a change of heart since the first election that doesn't count.
Why won't Senator Clinton place her trust in the voters? Why is she so dead set on gaming the system? I just don't get it.
She really is a monster. Deal with it.

I think Clinton's reasoning . . . (JPTERP - 3/7/2008 9:25:29 PM)
in Florida -- and especially in Michigan -- is that her margins are likely to be much narrower than they would be if she's able to get the pseudo results from a non-contested beauty contest (I agree though -- the odds are she wins Florida by a pretty comfortable margin -- 10-14% points).
It may also be that she is concerned that she won't have the funds after Pennsylvania to run a true statewide campaign in two more major states.

she's a monstrous ego ... (j_wyatt - 3/7/2008 11:29:10 PM)
is what Samantha Powers meant when she described Senator Clinton as a "monster". From that monstrous ego has grown an overweening ambition so self-blinding she stuck with Bill through sexual humiliations that are the stuff of history.
The Queen likes to present herself as someone championing the Democratic lumpenproletariat, yet the facts of her life say otherwise. Why can't the Obama people eviscerate her on this fiction? Hillary Clinton ascended into the realms of the privileged and powerful when Bill was first elected governor of Arkansas in 1978. In the thirty years since, she's been consecutively governor's wife, president's wife and U.S. Senator. When was the last time she pumped her own gas? Worried about medical bills?
Compare that to Senator Obama. Assuming Illinois state legislators don't get much in the way of pampering and perks, Obama was a lot more of a 'real person' as recently as just four years ago.
Too bad about the brilliant Samantha Powers having to throw herself under the bus. But if Senator Obama survives this downturn and manages to go on to win it, perhaps Ms. Powers may reappear as a leading light in his administration.
Ascending through a name (Rebecca - 3/7/2008 11:42:11 PM)
It seems to me that the only people who ascend to posts like governor or Senator without any previous legislative experience are usually people who do so because they have a well known name.
George Bush is a notable example. So is Hillary Clinton.
