Check out this new video, produced by Chesapeake Climate Action Network, on the proposed Wise County Power Plant. Rather than focusing on everyone's favorite corporate citizen, Dominion, the video focuses in Governor Kaine.
The video claims that Governor Kaine received $138,000 ($88,000 for his campaign plus another $50,000 for his inauguration party) from Dominion, and that may have influenced his overwhelming support for the plant. I wonder if the Governor's position will change with the recent admission that the plant will do nothing to stop global warming.
What do people think? Does this go too far? Nor far enough?
The intro music in particular was first rate -- the intro segment was great.
It depends on the target audience, but I think more background is needed here.
What is driving the decision? What is Kaine and the EPA's case for saying the plant should (or should not) open?
What are the trade-offs here? What is the local perspective? (I think it's probably best to get a balance of voices outside of the local hearings -- direct address to the camera -- outdoors). More voices, more perspectives -- with an emphasis on the local one. I would say fewer shots of the college musicians. It's visual filler, and it doesn't advance the main narrative in a clear way (e.g. the state wants to build a power plant in a community that doesn't want it, and we need to keep this from happening).
