Hypocrisy?

As Talking Points Memo points out, there's nothing wrong with Hillary doing this.

It's the hypocrisy stupid!

Clinton, 92: "The hits that I took in this election are nothing compared to the hits the people of this state and this country have been taking for a long time."

Hillary Clinton, tonight: "You know, the hits I've taken in life are nothing compared to what goes on every single day in the lives of people across our country."

And everyone's saying it was her "best moment" of the debate.

So, which is it? (Sui Juris - 2/22/2008 12:34:07 AM)
Did Obama plagiarize or is this diary as stupid as the original charge?

Did you actually take 2 seconds (Chris Guy - 2/22/2008 12:08:39 PM)
to read what I wrote?

fwiw (Sui Juris - 2/22/2008 2:01:50 PM)
You're right.  I read it a completely different way last night.  My apologies.

They're both dumb charges (DanG - 2/22/2008 12:52:23 AM)
Neither Obama nor Hillary plagiarized.  And judging by the reactions the accusations brought up, i doubt she's going to keep hitting on that one much longer.

Agree 100% (Lowell - 2/22/2008 6:55:28 AM)

Do you really hate Hillary that much (MJW - 2/22/2008 2:03:44 AM)
that you won't give her credit where credit is due. As a Hillary supporter, I will give Obama good marks for his performance tonight. We will have a Democratic president next year - Obama or Clinton.

They both did fine tonight. (Lowell - 2/22/2008 6:54:23 AM)
I agree with Mark Halperin of Time Magazine and Chris Cillizaa of the Washington Post -- pretty much a dead heat in the debate.

I really haven't seen this much Clinton-hating... (SWVA.Observer - 2/22/2008 3:33:30 AM)
since the last I heard Rush Limbaugh speak and Ann Coulter was on TV. There are five words shared between these two quotes (the hits and are nothing compared), which is substantially different than lifting, word-for-word, three sentences from a speech.

Regardless of the outright stupidity of these charges on both sides, and of this diary in particular, we're all Democrats dang it!

I admire and respect HIllary Clinton (Lowell - 2/22/2008 6:53:17 AM)
and am not sure where you're seeing "this much Clinton-hating."  On this ridiculous "plagiarism issue," I think it's utterly ridiculous whether it's leveled at Hillary or Barack (or anyone else, really -- never got the Joe Biden "controversy" in 1987 either).  I mean, seriously, does anyone think that politicians don't borrow lines from each other constantly?  What next, are we going to accuse jazz musicians of plagiarizing riffs from each other?  Ee gads, let's talk about substance!

I neither admire nor respect her (DanG - 2/22/2008 2:11:29 PM)
after this campaign.  However, should she legitimately win the nomination, I will support her over John McCain, if only because she'll appoint better Supreme Court Justices.
