Al Gore Surfaces

The New York Times is reporting that Al Gore and other senior Democrats plan to remain neutral for now in the presidential race in part to keep open the option to broker a peaceful resolution to what they fear could be a bitterly divided convention, party officials and aides said Friday.
Apparently Gore and and other leading Democrats have held private talks within the last week, worried that the close race between Obama and Clinton could be decided by 795 superdelegates.

Gives him some credibility to negotiate if a brokered convention occurs.
