Michigan and Florida and Back Room Deals

I have always said that I would vigorously support whoever receives the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. However, for the last two days I have watched news reports that the Clinton campaign may be urging the DNC to count the votes cast in the Michigan and Florida primaries, despite the fact that the party announced prior to those races that the votes would not count in delegate configuration. This was due to both states' having violated party guidelines as to the conduct of primary elelctions.
Barack Obama did not campaign in either state due to the Democratic Party's position that the votes would not be figured into the delegate count and he did not even appear on the ballot in one state. Considering the hanky-panky that resulted in George W. Bush stealing the election from Al Gore in 1998, I am astounded that Hillary Clinton and those close to her would even CONSIDER pursuing a change in the rules in mid stream in this manner.
I for one agree with Rev. Al Sharpton. If games are played behind the scenes by party officials... and delegate votes are cast from either Florida or Michigan based upon one sided races in those states, I will not only NOT assist Hillary Clinton's campaign if she is the nominee, I might not even vote at all. What in heaven's name is the Democratic Party thinking? Surely they would not be so stupid as to alienate Democratic voters by blatently manipulating the process like this.
Would the party really want to hand the election to John McCain by doing this?

MI & FL should run primaries (Hugo Estrada - 2/13/2008 9:37:09 PM)
or caucuses later this year. Otherwise it will be Hillary trying to cheat herself into the nomination.
I agree with you 100% (True Blue - 2/14/2008 12:25:29 AM)
If Hillary can win the nomination, that's one thing.
If she steals it?
All bets are off, and if the Democratic Party is foolish enough to go down that path it will have to accept the consequences.
I for one am telling Howard Dean how I feel (Pru - 2/14/2008 9:08:28 AM)
Just as I was fretting about this I received an email from Howard Dean...a "touchy feely" message about our two great candidates...obviously trying to keep this party together and moving along toward victory in the fall. I am going to send an email to The Democratic Party (found the link from Howard's email) about all this, and I encourage others to do the same thing. COULD THEY POSSIBLY BE SO STUPID AS TO CONSIDER ALIENATING HALF THEIR SUPPORTERS WITH DIRTY TRICKS THAT NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD CONSIDER TO BE FAIR?
