It's gonna be a loooong February if you're a Republican in Virginia. In six days, voters in the 99th House District go to the polls with an opportunity to send Albert Pollard back to Richmond. I know the number of people that read this site and happen to live in the 99th are few and far between....but just getting the word out and reminding folks in the Northern Neck that there is an election on Tuesday the 19th helps Albert tremendously. His number one priority in his campaign against Lee Anne Washington? Voter Awareness. The more people that show up, the better Pollard's chances. And of course volunteering and contributing couldn't hurt either. :)

The results of this special election will be certified by Wednesday the 20th at noon, exactly one week from now! The House of Delegates stood at 56-44 (including the two independents) in favor of the Republicans after last November's elections. With Albert, we can make it 55-45.

Can you explain this race a little more? (Jack Landers - 2/13/2008 12:45:41 PM)
So Pollard is a former Delegate running for his old seat? What opened it up again? I know nothing about the 99th district.

Rob Wittman's election to Congress (Chris Guy - 2/13/2008 12:50:59 PM)
opened it up. Pollard easily won 3 consecutive terms to the House of Delegates and is probably the most popular political figure in the Northern Neck. More info

I thought the Dems had 44 before this race (NGB - 2/13/2008 12:50:06 PM)
He'd make it 45

with the 99th currently vacant (Chris Guy - 2/13/2008 12:52:30 PM)
I believe it's 54-45 as of now, if you include the two Independents.

NGB is right (Ben - 2/13/2008 2:05:20 PM)
