Have Obama at 62 in MD
Is it me - or what is going on with Fairfax? (totallynext - 2/12/2008 10:40:55 PM)
The actual results posted is only for 13 out of 232 not the 227. The numbers are so low?
So that being said that all of these races are being called without the results of the largest jurisdiction being accurate?
The Fairfax precinct count has been wrong for well over an hour. (Randy Klear - 2/12/2008 11:57:23 PM)
The actual counts appear to be correct for the precincts that are actually reported.
Orange County votes are strange... (Kifaru - 2/12/2008 10:47:31 PM)
I'm reposting from two posts down since everyone seems to have moved on:)
Did anyone else notice the strange voting results in Orange? Richardson and Kucinich got 400 votes apiece. If you look at the precinct returns it appears to be from 4 of the 10 precincts. I wonder if that is due to a computer glitch? Or were they hotbeds of support for the candidates?
As an aside, there were more African American voters at my precinct today than I have EVER seen. I voted in the Hazel Run precinct in Spotsy....
McCain is speaking now on CNN and who is standing behind him? (Barbara - 2/12/2008 11:07:30 PM)
Tom and Jeannemarie.
I know ... (TheGreenMiles - 2/12/2008 11:08:37 PM)
What an uninspiring scene ... two retiring Congressmen, a 72-year-old, and a state senator who just got voted out of office.
Maybe Tom is auditioning for VP? (Barbara - 2/12/2008 11:15:17 PM)
Conservatives will flip their lid (Chris Guy - 2/12/2008 11:19:01 PM)
I think it's gonna be Tim Pawlenty. One of McCain's very earliest backers (he's McCain's Tim Kaine), plus he's young and from a swing state.
Portman is the current buzz... (Rob - 2/12/2008 11:44:00 PM)
Good (Chris Guy - 2/12/2008 11:49:36 PM)
a member of the Bush administration, one tied to his economic policies to boot! And he's from the reddest section of Ohio, Jean Schmidt replaced him.
Yawn (TheGreenMiles - 2/12/2008 11:12:00 PM)
"John-Mc-Cain! John-Mc-Cain!" That's the best chant they could come up with?
I've missed JMDD (Eric - 2/12/2008 11:15:04 PM)
So glad she's found something interesting to do.

In other MD news, Donna Edwards is leading Albert Wynn so far! Good news for liberals!
In Virginia, Obama got (Eric - 2/12/2008 11:32:41 PM)
more votes by himself than all the Republican candidates put together. That can't make the Repubs feel very good - super support for Obama and a pathetic turnout by GOP voters.
Even in his second place finish in CA (Chris Guy - 2/12/2008 11:41:43 PM)
Obama got almost twice as many votes as the GOP "winner" McCain. And that's when the Republican race was still competitive.
I still think the stake wont get driven in till Mar4 (pvogel - 2/12/2008 11:48:07 PM)
Meanwhile, their might still be signs of life in the Vampiress
Who woulda thunk (Ron1 - 2/13/2008 1:16:40 AM)
that Barack would win Virginia by a bigger margin than Maryland?
That's what it's looking like at this point (although it's hard to predict the final tally w/o knowing where the tallies are from and which precincts are outstanding).
and last weekend (Chris Guy - 2/13/2008 1:27:05 AM)
his bigggest margin was Washington state, most people thought he'd have an easier time in Louisiana or Nebraska.
Stunning stuff (Ron1 - 2/13/2008 1:45:48 AM)
VA:
County by county breakdown
Look at that map -- it was a rout. Look especially at what he did Southside. Very good night for Tom Perriello, as well. And, DAMN, do we need to find a candidate in VA-4. Look at those vote margins and totals.
---
Think about this: Since Super Tuesday, Barack has won every single contest by double digits, with the closest one being in Maine, where he won 59-40. So, a 199 point spread is the closest race since Super Tuesday.
Nebraska: 68-32
Louisiana: 57-36
Washington: 68-31
Maine: 59-40
DC: 75-24
Virginia: 64-35
Maryland: 60-37
This is landslide territory, in every state.
Also, think about this: When, EVER, has a candidate received 75% of the vote in DC, and 75% in Alaska, AND 79% IN IDAHO!
Not to mention, 74% in Kansas!
This is uncharted stuff, off the map. I'm really just stunned, in a euphoric way.
