Obama, Huckabee Have Great Days

I'll have more to say on yesterday's election returns later, after I'm half awake.  For now, I'll just say that Barack Obama had a great day, winning by huge margins in Louisiana (57%-36%), Washington state (68%-31%), and Nebraska (68%-32%).  Can we say "Big Mo?" :)  (Chris Cillizza asks, "If Obama wins every vote or every vote but Maine between now and March 4 -- when Ohio and Texas are set to go -- is the race fundamentally altered?")

Also, Obama held a huge rally in Bangor, Maine (see photo above). According to this report, the crowd was 6,000-7,000, plus 2,000 "turned away."  For comparison purposes, "the total number of those who caucused in [Maine's] record 2004 caucus was 17,000...[yesterday] Obama brought out over a third of the total from the entire state, and put it in one room."  Wow.  (note: Clinton is favored to win the Maine caucuses; an Obama victory today would definitely be an upset)

On the Republican side, this race may not be over yet, as Mike Huckabee beat John McCain in Louisiana (43%-42%) and Kansas (60%-24%).  McCain edged out Huckabee (26%-24%) in Washington state.  Go Huckster-bee!

In case you missed them (Lowell - 2/10/2008 8:20:59 AM)
Two new Rasmussen polls have Obama leading 55-37% in Virginia and 57%-31% in Maryland.

What if... (relawson - 2/10/2008 4:51:54 PM)
If Romney gave Huckabee his delegates, is it still over for Huckabee?

Here is my favorite Huckabee quote

I know the pundits, and I know what they say, that the math doesn't work out.Folks,I didn't major in math,I majored in miracles, and I believe in those,"

A Huckabee nomination is good in that he would be the easiest candidate for a Democrat to win against.  But, if Huckabee got his "miracle" and did win a general election - how scary would that be!
