More praise for Kaine's hard work

Governor-elect Tim Kaine could've taken a vacation after a hard campaign.  Instead, he's travelling all across the Commonwealth to "tackle" head-on the transporation crisis facing Virginia.

And he's getting more praise for getting down to business (in Manassas):

?There has not really been a head-on tackle of transportation for the last 20 years,? said Kaine, who added he has a sense of urgency about the issue.

Earlier in the day, Kaine hinted that he might consider calling the legislature into a special session if significant progress cannot be made during its regular session.

Michael Anzilotti, president of Virginia Commerce Bank and chairman of the Board of Trade?s Transportation and Environmental Committee, said that is the kind of strong commitment Northern Virginia has been waiting for.

?There has got to be leadership. That?s what?s been missing,? said Anzilotti, a Chantilly resident, who was critical of Kaine for a ?lack of transportation depth? during the campaign.

Looks like Kaine is even turning around the non-believers.  The future governor has five more transportation town hall meetings: Bristol on this Thurs., Fredericksburg and Leesburg on Saturday, Danville on Monday, and Staunton on next Thurs.  Also, another meetings is being planned for Fairfax.
