I just got off a conference call with Barack Obama's campaign manager David Plouffe.  Key points:

*Obama will be at the Virginia JJ dinner.

*Plouffe expects Virginia to be very competitive, a close contest. Also, Plouffe expects the Clinton campaign to put a big effort into winning Virginia, notes that her campaign HQ is located in Virginia and that her strategy was mapped out in this morning's Washington Post.

*Very pleased with support from Gov. Kaine, Rep. Scott, Rep. Boucher, and the Women for Obama group.

*Expects Maryland to be "fiercely competitive" as well.

*Right now, the Obama campaign claims a pledged delegate lead of 28 over the Clinton campaign.

*By the end of next Tuesday, the Obama campaign's goal is to add to its delegate lead.  Right now, Clinton has an advantage in Maine, but Plouffe expects Obama will win delegates there and in all states in March and April.

*"We are absolutely thrilled" with the outcome of the 2/5 primaries.  Obama "showed strength throughout the country."  Right now, Obama has more votes, more states, and more pledged delegates than Clinton.

*On the possibility of caucuses for Michigan and Florida to bring them back into compliance with DNC rules, Plouffe said the campaign hasn't had any discussions on this, but that these are two important states and "we have a lot of support in them."  Plouffe added, "We're going to abide by DNC rules" with regard to MI and FL.
