RK Poll Results: Byrne Leads in 11th CD Race

The latest RK poll results for the 11th CD Democratic contest show Leslie Byrne with a strong lead (54.4% of the vote), with Doug Denneny doing quite well (25.4%), and Gerry Connolly trailing (14.5%).  These results compare to our December 5, 2007 poll in which Byrne had 52.9% of the vote, followed by Denneny at 18.4%, Connolly at 16.9%, and Andy Hurst at 8.8%.

In other words, Byrne gained a bit over the past two months, Denneny surged, Connolly actually fell, and Hurst was not included as he is not running.  Meanwhile, I hear that Connolly will file officially for Congress today or tomorrow. I also hear that Connolly's annual St. Patrick's Day party this year will be at his house.  It will be interesting to see who shows up this year for what will essentially be a Connolly for Congress campaign event.  That will be very revealing.

Glad to see Doug is doing well, also. He seems an impressive man and I know there is a future for him in the Democratic party.

Of course, Gerry is not actually in this thing yet, so I'm not sure that should count.

Wash Post has an on-line article saying that Connly will announce later today, Thursday.

needs to come out and endorse Obama to shake this race up.  Let Leslie and Jerry split the establishment vote and he could do it.  I know Leslie is for Clinton but not sure about Jerry.

Leslie, the commenter directly above you asserted that he or she "know[s]" you're for Clinton.  Is this true?

Joel: I have not endorsed either Sen. Clinton or  Sen. Obama. I have a good relationship with both and know that the country will be well served by whomever we Democrats choose. McCain on the other hand wants to keep us in Iraq forever and has no clue as to how to grow our economy.

I'm excited about my increasing numbers/percentages on this poll compared to my earlier second place finish on RK.  Also, I'm excited about finishing second at the Straw Poll on Saturday at Mount Vernon.  Thanks for your continued support of our campaign for change.
