I support Barack Obama for three main reasons:
1) He has an unassailable progressive record! As an example: Since he was elected to the Illinois State Senate, Obama has fought to abolish the death penalty... an issue so untouchable that many would rather tinker with Social Security. I truly believe that Barack Obama believes what he says and he's willing to fight the unpopular battle to do whats right.
2) He can and will change Washington! John McCain and Hillary Clinton both offer something that usually proves to be an asset in a Presidential bid: experience. However, does Washington really need another insider who is all too comfortable with the status quo? I believe Barack Obama will unify America with a common purpose and mandate to finally change the way things are done in Washington!
3) He's the most electable! Conventional wisdom would suggest that this flies in the face of my first point, but Obama offers something this country hasn't seen since FDR -- hope and the opportunity for a truly New Deal.
If we can beef up our Congressional advantage in the House and -- finally -- get beyond the monkey-wrench that is Lieberman in the Senate, our chances of cleaning up the Augean stables -- that the Bush/Cheney combo will be leaving behind -- are that much better.
People say that Clinton is a good fighter while Obama is unproven. I don't know how good Obama is at bare-knuckles encounters. But, even if he is less of a fighter... perhaps, if (real) Dems get swept into Congress on Obama's coat-tails, there'll be less need for those constant battles.
