The deadline for federal candidates to file end-of-year fundraising reports with the FEC are still trickling in.  For now, here's how things look among Virginia candidates, based on both FEC reports and candidate press releases.

District 1
Rep. Robert Wittman (R) has $143,229 in cash, but $201,000 in debt. I am not aware of a Democratic challenger at this time.

District 2
Rep. Thelma Drake (R) has $425,787 cash on hand with no debt.  There is one declared Democratic opponent,  Glenn Nye, who is not listed on the FEC database yet, is the only Democratic challenger I'm aware of at the present time.

District 3
There is still no end-of-year report for Rep. Bobby Scott (D), although Scott had $139,038 cash on hand as of 9/30/07. I am not aware of a Republican challenger at this time.

District 4
Rep. Randy Forbes (R) has $356,399 cash on hand with no debt. I am not aware of a Democratic challenger at this time.

District 5
Rep. Virgil Goode (R) has $384,161 cash on hand with no debt.  His Democratic opponent, Tom Perriello, has $243,559 with $3,000 in debt. The Perriello campaign just announced that "in the fourth quarter of 2007, [Perriello] out-raised incumbent Virgil Goode by nearly 3 to 1."
District 6
Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R) has $1,354,093 cash on hand with no debt. The Democratic challenger, Sam Rasoul, has $53,725 with $10,000 in debt.

District 7
Rep. Eric Cantor (R) has $555,271 cash on hand with no debt.  Democrats who have expressed interest in running against Cantor include Anita Hartke, Jim Nachman, Kenn Stepman and Brian Taylor. There are no FEC reports for any of them at this time.

District 8
Rep. Jim Moran (D) has $692,703 cash on hand with no debt. His primary challenger, Matthew Famiglietti, reports $0.  Republican challengers include Mark Ellmore (no report yet), Dianne Mary Kelly (no report yet), Basil Mossaidis ($510 cash as of 9/30/07), and John Villanueva (no report yet).

District 9
Rep. Rick Boucher (D) has $1,191,069 cash on hand with no debt. I am not aware of a Republican challenger.

District 10
Rep. Frank Wolf (R) has $555,251 cash on hand and no debt. Democratic challenger Judy Feder has $483,003 cash on hand and no debt. The other Democratic challenger, Mike Turner, reports $37,904 cash on hand with $25,000 in debt. The Republican challenger to Wolf, Vern McKinley, reports $12,143 cash on hand with $10,000 in debt.

District 11

What? Don't you believe me, bubalah? (Bwana - 2/1/2008 7:03:06 PM)
Well, since you asked...

Feder is at:
http://query.nictusa.com/cgi-b...

Wolf is at:
http://query.nictusa.com/cgi-b...

If those don't work, go to:

http://www.fec.gov/finance/dis...

and choose the appropriate fields for committee, state, party, chamber...

I will also drop this in a diary just in case these links don't take...

I believe you... (Lowell - 2/1/2008 7:04:52 PM)
...I just couldn't fine it.

Thanks.

Er.... (Lowell - 2/1/2008 7:09:01 PM)
"FIND" it.

Seems to be a lot like 06 (DanG - 2/1/2008 4:07:26 PM)
Judy was only outspent by $200,000 last year (comparatively not that much, especially considering neighboring Andy Hurst got outspent by over a million dollars and did almost twice as well), and she was pretty solidly beaten in a district that Webb was able to win. Though her fundraising appears to be going pretty well, she's going to need a lot more than this to win.  That is, if the District hasn't changed that much in two years.

FYI (Lowell - 2/1/2008 7:19:40 PM)
Judy's waaaaay ahead of where she was at this point in 2006.

January 31, 2006 Cash on Hand: Wolf $450K/Feder $0
January 31, 2008 Cash on Hand: Wolf $555K/Feder $483K

In the past 6 months, Wolf and Feder have been essentially equal in fundraising: Wolf $470K/Feder $465K

Totally different ballgame.

I'm just saying, Lowell (DanG - 2/2/2008 1:54:17 PM)
I don't think "playing equal" is gonna defeat Wolf.  She couldn't beat him with almost the same amount of cash.  If she wants to win this thing, she's gonna have to raise more than him, and spend more than him.  Plain and simple.

Well, money's important no doubt. (Lowell - 2/2/2008 2:02:57 PM)
I'm not sure the exact dollar amount that would defeat Wolf, however.  I think that just as important is getting people fired up to replace Wolf with Judy Feder.  That, in my mind, is the key, even more than money.  Remember Webb vs. Miller?  We got outspent big time but won because we were more fired up.  Just sayin'...

Mark Warner and Jim Gilmore (Lowell - 2/1/2008 5:28:23 PM)
Warner raised $2.7 million in the fourth quarter.
Gilmore raised $348,000.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
