Fraud in South Carolina

Kos makes an excellent point about the South Carolina results. Where are the cries of fraud? South Carolina polls were further off than in NH...in Obama's favor (the salient point here). They use the ES&S machines. Why no calls from the blogosphere for recounts and investigations into the disparity?
Why no speculation on a reverse Bradley effect?
The answer is clear enough...Hillary didn't win. It appears only victories by her are considered suspicious.
The pre-election poll average in New Hampshire was:
Obama 36.7
Clinton 30.4
Edwards 18.4
The final results were:
Clinton 39
Obama 37
Edwards 17
So the polls nailed Obama and Edwards, while Clinton picked up the undecided vote. But overall, it was about a 10-point difference between the polls and the actual results.
Of course, this launched the Mother of All Whines, with morons across the internet charging fraud without knowing what the hell they were talking about. But it was Clinton! And she won! And of course, that meant that her victory couldn't have been legitimate.

We should recount (Hugo Estrada - 1/30/2008 4:30:44 PM)
The process is more important than candidates. And if Hillary supporters feel unhappy with the results, there should be recounts.
Sure, go ahead. (Lowell - 1/30/2008 4:32:08 PM)
And while we're at it, how about implementing voter verified audit trails?
Not a bad idea (Hugo Estrada - 1/30/2008 4:46:42 PM)
:)
A recount at the candidate's expense . . . (JPTERP - 1/30/2008 5:55:39 PM)
I'm all for it.
Unfortunately there is no Kucinich around to foot the bill on this one, but if the Clinton Team wants to divert needed campaign funds from Super Tuesday states towards confirming this past weekend's results, they should certainly have that option.
Yes, excellent idea! (Lowell - 1/30/2008 5:58:55 PM)
In fact, I'd suggest the Clinton campaign fund recounts in EVERY state. Heck, recount 'em two, three, or four times - the more the merrier.
snark
fraud in FL??? (Demo08 - 1/30/2008 7:17:52 PM)
I haven't heard an explanation for why Hillary kicked the shit out of Obama in one of the largest and arguably the most important general election states.
Still waiting, was it the SC bounce?? or the Ted Kennedy endorsement? Caroline Kennedy? or could it just be that BHO isn't all that strong of a candidate after all.
Nope. (JPTERP - 1/31/2008 12:30:22 AM)
sounds like there was a tax initiative on the ballot. Homeowners showed up in droves. A 25-30% Clinton lead from the previous week disappeared closed 7-12% points in a matter of a few days -- with no tangible ground game or active campaign work. That's a pretty significant close in a campaign where name ID was key.
