Time for another Virginia blog roundup

Okay, loyal readers, it's time for another tour around Virginia's progressive blogosphere.  I lean heavily this time on http://www.leftyblogs.com/button.gif border=0/> and its Virginia blogroll, and I hope all you lefty Virginia blogs will apply to be added soon.

Let the games begin!  Here's a more extensive than usual look at the more recent blog posts about Virginia politics:

- Waldo's C'ville blog - cvillenews- has a nice review of the latest fireworks in the Charlottesville City Council over the organization of the city's new elected school board.  Apparently, the battle is over whether the seats will be by ward or at large, which led to a dust-up between Republican Rob Schilling (who [allegedly] sent out an email to supporters claiming that he's ?the only councilor who cares about the African-American community") and Democrat Kendra Hamilton (who happens to be African-American).  You can imagine why she's upset. [UPDATE: Copy of Schilling's email in the cvillenews comments.  Reading that email, I don't see where Hamilton gets her characterization, which Waldo quotes from this article]

- Not Larry Sabato has an in-depth analysis of what happened in the 41st.  Also - feel free to stop by the open thread.

- Corey Hernandez is keeping tabs on Bolling's old Senate seat, now that he has resigned.

- Looks like Howling Latina is getting revved up again after a post-election break.

- Over at SLANTBLOG, F.T. digs into the problems facing Cantor and Goode heading into 2006.  Looks like some "pay to play" scandals are a-brewin' for the two Republican congressmen - courtesy of the Abramoff/DeLay machine.  (Waldo has more here).

- Kenton over at 750 Volts highlights a peculiar bill in the statehouse.

- At GOTV, Alice opens fire on Jean Jenson, secretary of the State Board of Elections, who has cautioned against new technology as a legislative committee looks into paper audit trails on new voting equipment.  I'm not sure if Jenson is against such paper trails (the article is vaguely worded).  While I'm not a fan of a cautious approach to finding ways to ensuring that every vote is counted, she's a Warner appointee, so I'll hold my fire until we get more details about what's going on here.

- Alice also posts for the Fairfax County Democratic Committee  blog, where she describes a recent visit by Del. Jim Scott who described the recount process from experience.

- Draft Mark Warner posts what appears to be a review of the Governor's visit to New Hampshire by local writer Bernie Quigley.

Somebody shake Democracy for Virginia's chair - looks like someone's asleep.
