I've been watching the the South Carolina Democratic debate. Very interesting. Obama and Clinton are the front runners and they have clearly swabbled over words. At one point after the swabbling John Edwards pointed out how far from the topic of the economy Obama and Clinton strayed in their fight. Kudos John.
The Iraq question was raised. All the candidates pretty much gave in their own words how that would end it. But my issue with the initial question was asked whether or not we would leave the war by withdrawing or winning. My thought on that is that this is a war. Bush always talks about winning the war and not surrendering. But this is a war, not a football game. You win football games and baseball games, but when lives are lost you don't win and you can't win. You have lost when you have created war, but this loss isn't like losing a football game, it is worse.
Anyways it is Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday. I wonder how many times his name has been mentioned in this debate. I think Edwards may lead the count.
