Washington Post's Winners and Losers

Overall I liked the Washington Post's Winners and Losers list for the week but I wanted to make a couple changes:

WINNERS:

(ADDITIONS)

Senate Democrats- The first week in the majority and they have proved to be a unified force despite vast regional and political differences.

(SUBTRACTIONS)

Lionel Spruill- see below

(CORRECTIONS)

While the Washington Post may believe Chuck Colgan is a Republican- he is in fact a Democrat. My apologies to the Republican Caucus who I'm sure was quite happy that they had a majority again after reading the Post.

LOSERS:

(ADDITIONS)

Jim Scott and David Poisson: While every Republican who voted to kill HB 745 is from an incrediably gun-friendly district, both of the 2 Democrats voted to kill the bill from suburban districts: Jim Scott (ubber liberal district in Falls Church and Fairfax) and David Poisson (Loudoun). This could be a powerful campaign issue against both.

Lionel Spruill: While the Washington Post may think that introducing a bill whose title is "Display of objects or devices representing or resembling genitalia on motor vehicles" is a plus... I tend to believe it doesnt put the Delegate from Chesapeake in the best light.

(SUBTRACTIONS)

Creigh Deeds: Compliment Shannon for raising $200,000 and blast Creigh for doing the same thing? Whatever...

Update: LAS corrects me in the comments (My apologies to the 2):

That was their 2nd vote (the first one they voted in favor) and it was more or less procedure...they did that so they could reintroduce the bill at a later time.

God bless them both.

Yeah, I don't really get it, either--it is rather confusing. But Jim Scott has ALWAYS been a steadfast supporter of gun safety and responsible gun ownership. When you see Jim go off the reservation to join the NRA, it's either his evil twin/clone or a sign that the end of the world is here.
