Shaun Kenney, Then and Now

Today, Shaun Kenney is supporting "Sideshow" Bob Marshall for U.S. Senate.  As such, Kenney says he strongly agrees with Marshall for being a "Hero in Open Government Fight."  That's great, I couldn't agree more; subcommittees should NOT be a black hole where bills can simply be "disappeared."

What's interesting, though, is to hear what Kenney has to say now about unrecorded subcommittee votes compared to what he had to say last year, back when he was flacking for the RPV.  (Hint: back then, he vociferously defended the subcommittee black hole). Quite a flip-flop, it would appear...but good to see nonetheless.

Not at All (Waldo Jaquith - 1/17/2008 3:00:36 PM)
Lowell, you know what a spokesman does for a living: he represents the views of his employer. What Shaun's specific views are on individual matters of policy had absolutely no bearing on what he said on behalf of the RPV, nor should they.

Same thing when he made his (Lowell - 1/17/2008 3:23:29 PM)
infamous "Jew baiting" comments?

What is it with you and Shaun (Ben - 1/17/2008 3:24:59 PM)
No matter what Lowell says about Shaun you are on here within minutes every time to defend Shaun.  Is there something we should know about, or are you one of those people that believe your friends are more important than the public policy side of politics?

Best tactic (Peninsula Pete - 1/17/2008 4:35:50 PM)
Best tactic to take with Shaun Kenney is to ignore him.  I've been practicing this for some time now, and so has the media.  Its why he isn't "spokesman" anymore.  Kenney checks the wind and decides what direction its blowing before taking a stand.  Principle has nothing to do with it.  Much like the RPV!
