If you want to ask Gov. Kaine a question, here's your big chance.
Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine will be online Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 11:15 a.m. ET to take your questions about his term in office, his State of the Commonwealth speech and his goals for the upcoming year.
Submit your questions and comments before or during the discussion.
My question, given the dire budget situation and the hostile House Republicans, "Are you having fun yet?" :)

My question... (Eric - 1/16/2008 10:25:14 AM)
was how he feels about Chap's Clean Energy bill. I highly recommend others submit the same question (or a variation) to show our strong interest in hearing his position - and hopefully what he plans on doing to get it passed.
My question (TheGreenMiles - 1/16/2008 10:36:19 AM)
"Gov. Kaine, thanks for taking our questions! I'd like to ask about the Virginia Energy Plan. Scientists tell us we need to cut carbon emissions 80% by 2050 to curb the worst effects of global warming, yet the energy plan on calls for emissions cuts of 30% off projected levels by 2030, only a small cut off current levels. Don't we need more action not only to stave off global warming, but to keep Virginia competitive as the national economy rapidly shifts to clean energy?"
2008/2009 elections (Scripple - 1/16/2008 11:27:41 AM)
A lot of Hillary's supporters in Virginia and elsewhere have gotten extremely negative, including repeating untrue and refuted internet allegations. But you've been an early supporter of Barack Obama. Why do you think he can win the primary in February, and why do you think he can win Virginia in November?
And can we get you to tell us who you think are some up-and-comers in the Democratic Party who might be running for LG or AG in 2009?
Global Warming and Coal ??? (joshtulkin - 1/16/2008 12:19:37 PM)
I submitted this question - "You've pledged to reduce Virginia's impact on global warming. The proposed Wise County Power Plant would emit 5.7 million tons of CO2 per year. Your own energy plan said we should maximize efficiency and conservation before we developing new convention power sources. Do you think we've already maximized efficiency? If not, why is your administration supporting this plant?"
Wow (TheGreenMiles - 1/16/2008 12:59:10 PM)
He didn't answer one question about the environment. Conservative causes like immigration and niche issues like state employee pay raises, but nothing on the environment. And he only answered questions for half an hour total.
OK, there was one ... (TheGreenMiles - 1/16/2008 1:57:45 PM)
... runoff issue in there, but when's the last time that was a hot issue on Raising Kaine? Ever? Global warming, clean energy, green jobs, and stopping the Wise Co. plant. Nothing.
I hope he wasn't dodging. (Eric - 1/16/2008 1:59:30 PM)
I'm sure he had a lot of questions and only time for some. He may not have even selected the ones to be answered - I don't know exactly how they work those things.
Just means we'll have to keep asking.
