Republican House Leadership drawing ire of even Republicans

I just read this from the Republican blog Red Virginia:

Bad Leadership for House GOP

This was extremely sad to see what the House of Delegates has done thus far. First, they voted to allow House Subcommittee votes to be unrecorded. This is a blow to having open government. How can we hold our elected officials accountable if no one really knows what they did. Second, yet again, the House voted to continue to not televise there sessions. The Senate currently allows people to watch session on an on-line feed and can also be found on PBS. Everyone who supported either of these pieces of legislation should not be going back to serve their interests in the General Assembly next term.

Last year- I wrote in support of Delegate Plum's bill that would have restored recorded subcommittee votes (HB48) and was thoroughly disappointed when the Republicans unanimously killed it (Rob wrote on the subject at Raising Kaine as well). It was similarly disappointing this year when Republicans once again killed an effort to restore recorded subcommittee votes.

Its worth noting that while the Republican House has been resisting rules changes to open up government this session- the Democratic Senate has has been toughing the rules for members during session.
