Obama came from a long way down in New Hampshire to close to within three points. Yes, some of us got caught up in the polls showing Obama ahead, but Obama for America never stopped working.
So, now we're in an old-fashioned contest for a major party nomination. There is nothing wrong with that. Odds are that this will be the real contest for the Presidency anyway.
Both candidates can benefit from being tested.
If you want to take results up to this point and try to project what the voters want, then you can simply do a little math:
Obama + Edwards = Low-Mid 50s% range.
There is every reason for Obama to win Democratic voters:
He is a committed Democrat.
He is inspirational, reflecting the best of our political tradition.
He is from the heartland of America.
He has extraordinary personal qualities: intellect, charisma, self-discipline, sincerity, honesty.
He was raised by a strong mother who sacrificed for him and he knows she sacrificed. I think Dreams From My Father, despite the title, reveals that he brings that into his life.
Looking at his career RK, we have every reason to have faith in him and his unwavering commitment to us, the American people.
Barack Obama is the best, most exciting, most selfless politician I have had the opportunity to watch in my lifetime. He has given us every reason to believe in him. Under his leadership, we have the best chance of uniting America. That will put our President and us in a better position to correct the world's opinion of the USA.
