Friends,

In just one week, voters in the First Congressional District will go to the polls to elect a new U.S. Representative. We have an excellent candidate in Philip Forgit, and he could use your help!

Philip is an Iraq War Veteran who was awarded the Bronze Star for his service.  He also is a nationally recognized teacher who was awarded the 2005 National Education Association (NEA) Award for Teaching Excellence while serving our country in Iraq.  Philip is the type of man, and the type of candidate we can be proud of as Democrats, as Virginians and as Americans.

Governor Kaine has stepped in to help Philip succeed by hosting an event in Williamsburg this Saturday.  Please join us in supporting the Forgit Campaign at this critical event.  Here are the details:

When:              Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 11:30am

Where:             Three Olives Restaurant

1203 Richmond Road

Williamsburg, VA 23185

There are other ways you can help Philip, no matter where in the Commonwealth you live. One easy thing you can do is remind people in the First District to get out and vote by participating in Phone-From-Home activities. All you need is a computer and internet access. Contact Missy Kimmelman (Missy@Forgit2007.com) in the Stafford office or Jamey Lowdermilk (Jamey@Forgit2007.com) in the Newport News office for call lists.

In recent years, we have watched as Virginians have consistently told us they want reasonable and responsible leadership. In 2001 we elected Gov. Mark Warner, who put us back on sound economic footing. In 2005 we elected Gov. Tim Kaine, who built on the successes of Gov. Warner, making Virginia the best state in which to raise a child. In 2006, we took the nation by storm and sent Sen. Jim Webb to Washington. And just last month, Virginians voted to change the majority in the state Senate by sending leaders to Richmond who put progress ahead of partisanship.

We can do the same thing with this special election! Philip Forgit will take Virginia values to Washington. Like Sen. Webb, Philip will reject partisan politics and dedicate himself to progress.

But he can't do it without YOU! The election is just seven days away. Please contact the Forgit campaign and lend your support.

Sincerely,

Dick Cranwell
