I enjoyed myself Wednesday evening at a fundraiser for the next Representative from the 11th, the hard working, no nonsense fighter Leslie Byrne. I used to live in the 11th and I hope that after the next census, appropriate Congressional district lines will be restored (thanks for nothing Tom). In the meantime, voters in the current 11th supported Leslie Byrne for Lt. Gov. in 2005.
Anyway, it was a pleasant evening at Jim Turpin's house last Wednesday. I was glad to see some of the hardest working Democrats I know, such as Mary Detweiler and Rose Chu. I enjoyed my first in depth conversation with Larry Byrne. There are a lot of things I don't know about Virginia politics and Larry was kind enough to fill me in. Of course, I learned alot about Leslie as well Larry reminded me about Leslie's vote in favor of the Clinton tax package which played such an important role in resolving the Reagan budget mess. By the way, how do we get ourselves 16 years so we can perhaps establish strong habits and put a stop to the selfish regression patterns of these silly Republicans?

Leslie Byrne is a principled, experienced legislator who will lay out for voters why they need to go to the polls next November and bring reform to Washington........................... by electing Barack Obama, Mark Warner and Leslie Byrne to fix our country and our foreign policy.

.. worked on her campaign here on the Peninsula and wish she would have won. She almost did.
'Tho I am not in her district I will do my best to get the word out.
