Well, that didn't take long; Shaun Kenney is leaving the RPV for greener pastures with an anti-abortion organization called the "American Life League."  Sources inside the RPV have said that Shaun's decision to leave after a just a year may have been affected by clashes with with far-right-wing bloggers who have repeatedly tried to have him fired.  Shaun may have simply gotten tired of fighting with the right flank of his own party.

It will be interesting to see what Shaun has to say about the SWAC crowd once he's free to do so.

Maybe they'll replace him with Alex Davis (True Blue - 11/29/2007 2:53:22 PM)
I note that Alex Davis defeated Andrew Clem for the Staunton Republican Committee's Secretary-ship.

Honestly, who ditches a PhD in Political Science to promote a semi-literate kid with neo-Confederate fantasies and a messiah complex?

Alex, John, GGD, Teddy the Dog...Sybil? (Bubby - 11/29/2007 4:47:34 PM)
...and impersonating a lawyer! If someone wanted to write a story about the decline of the Republican party in Virginia, they could start with the Republican Sixth Congressional District Committee, and the Staunton Republican Committee.  Roll into SWACistan, and meet the many crazy characters who are only too happy to talk talk talk.

Sounds like George Allen (spotter - 11/29/2007 4:56:14 PM)
only even more clueless.  And yes, that includes the impersonating a lawyer part.

He starred in an Allen movie (Bubby - 11/29/2007 6:12:43 PM)
I almost forgot, here he is starring in an Allen Campaign video - he's the guy taking a fall when Mike Stark comes past.  A boy getting an early start on a life of corruption, and moral turpitude.

Who we going to laugh at now? (Peninsula Pete - 11/30/2007 7:48:04 AM)
Shaun Kenney was always good for a big laugh.  He'd make the most outrageous statements that made the Republicans look even worse!  I'm sure the RPV will pick another, out of touch, moron.  Hey, Brian Kirwin has been out of work for a long time!  He did such a bang up job for Marty Williams!  He'd be good for a lot of laughs and make the RPV look so stupid, it would make late night tv shows.  I say "hire Brian Kirwin for RPV spokesman"

Great suggestion! (Lowell - 11/30/2007 8:00:48 AM)
Ha. :)

Actually I wouldn't be surprised (True Blue - 11/30/2007 11:31:58 AM)
Don't count Kirwin out.

When he ran against Bobby Orrock in 2005's Republican... (Dianne - 11/30/2007 4:10:01 PM)
Primary, I never saw so many Democrats come to the polls to vote for the more moderate Orrock.  Some Republican friends in Spotsy, told me they consider him extreme right.  Try to figure that one out.  Maybe it's good news for Spotsy.
