Worst. Announcement. Video. Ever.

See here and here for a deconstruction/demolition of Jim Gilmore's "Worst. Announcement. Video. Ever."  The single worst line in the Worst. Announcement. Video. Ever.

These are challenging times for our country. We're threatened by terrorism, concerned about a difficult war, stuck in traffic...

Terrorism, war and traffic.  Yep, those are Americans' top three problems.  Imagine you were stuck in a nasty traffic jam on the Beltway and World War III broke out.  See what I mean?  It's too horrible to contemplate.  Which is why I say, "thank goodness that Jim Gilmore is here to protect us!"  **snark**

P.S.  Love the dark lighting, streams of cliches ("it's time for a change," "we can do better," "new hands at the wheel") and schmaltzy music, Mr. "No Car Tax" (hey, didn't "No Car Tax" contribute to the traffic problem in the first place?  duhhhhhhh)  How did this loser ever get elected Governor?  Maybe we were all watching those "celebrities" Gilmore talks about instead of focusing on how awful Gilmore was?

Did you notice the hint of 9/11 Tourette's? (dsvabeachdems - 11/20/2007 7:59:23 AM)
I heard him on the stump a month ago. He has a charming vignette about that morning. I'm certain you'll have a chance to hear it over the next year, so I won't repeat it here. Maybe we should lay off of him until he has the nomination. Anyone else except Felix will fit the voter's choice category "Anybody Butt" and be a more challenging opponent.

Sorry Jim... (mikeporter - 11/20/2007 9:07:50 AM)
terrorism/war/9-11/national security/defense didn't work last year and it won't work next year either.
"We badly need new hands at the wheel" Jim is right about this...we need to change John Warner's seat to the Democratic Party.  GO WARNER!!!

Already I am bored by Jim (Teddy - 11/20/2007 10:38:54 AM)
Just listening to him on WTOP, my eyes glazed. His main message seems to be no new taxes, continue to reduce taxes.  Do you suppose Sexman will liven things up in the primary?

That WTOP thing... (legacyofmarshall - 11/20/2007 11:19:20 AM)
I don't actually want to hear it because staring at my wall would be a better use of my time than listening to Jim Gilmore talk, but does it really talk about taxes?  I was very, very surprised to hear no mention of the RPVAs fav. topic in this announcement speech.  It was just vague, vague, and vaguer.  "Protect this" "love that" "values here and there" but no mention of abolishing the government and saving us from eternal damnation at the hands of the IRS!

Let's just hope he locks up the nomination (True Blue - 11/20/2007 1:29:32 PM)
