The bottom line here? Democrats, not Republicans, are better -- FAR better -- for your bottom line. According to Kinsley's examination of the 2005 Economic Report to the President, "the 2005 data confirm it: The party with the best record of serving Republican economic values is the Democrats. It isn't even close. "
As if to emphasize this point even further, an article in the Post business section begins as follows:
On June 7, 2001, President Bush signed into law the biggest tax cut in a generation. Britons went to the polls to pick Tony Blair as their prime minister for the next five years. And the Dow Jones industrial average closed at 11,090.74.The blue chip index hasn't closed above 11,000 since.
This pretty much sums it all up. Bad economic policies under Republicans, especially wasteful spending and huge budget deficits, are BAD FOR THE ECONOMY and BAD FOR THE STOCK MARKET. If you're a Virginian who cares about things like inflation, unemployment, and the debt, not to mention your stock portfolio and 401-K, there's only one answer here: vote for Democrats this November -- and "live like Republicans!"
