Can't I Watch the Patriots Destroy the Colts in Peace?

Anyone else sick of the political ads bombarding us during today's football games?  Cooch attacking Janet, JDD attacking Chap, even Chap attacking JDD.  I know negative advertising works, but I just want to drink my Samuel Smith Organic Ale and hope the Redskins can hang onto their lead over the Jets in the warm-up act before the Patriots beat the Colts in the Main Event.

Sorry, no brilliant political analysis here.  But as one of the millions of Americans who grew up wanting to be president one day, it sure does leave a bad taste in my mouth to see millions in ad dollars going to convince voters all the candidates are scum.  No wonder turnout keeps dropping.

Thank goodness I have football to distract me.  As someone who rooted for the Patriots through the darkest days of the Victor Kiam/Rod Rust/Matt Millen years, it's weird to be the Big Bad Bullies of the NFL.  I'm predicting Patriots 38, Colts 24.

The Right Result... (BP - 11/5/2007 10:35:26 AM)
... although you didn't give the Colts' defense enough credit.

While you're on a roll, what are your predictions for election day?

as always, it's the turnout (TheGreenMiles - 11/5/2007 11:21:09 AM)
I tend to think we're not giving enough credit to the GOP anger over immigration, which will boost their turnout, so I'm leaning on the low end of Democratic gains ... but I hope I'm wrong!

Season is over (Eric - 11/5/2007 10:57:20 AM)
All of a sudden I have a football let down... what's the point of the rest of the season?  The only possible meaningful game is when the Colts visit the Patriots in late January - although given this result it's unlikely that outcome is in question.  So what's interesting about the rest of the season?  Can we just skip the rest of this one and move onto next year?

Luckily I don't feel as jaded about the political season - I'm looking forward to tomorrow and *hopefully* some significant gains by the Dems.
