Marc Fisher Slams the Davises

Marc Fisher once again writes a great column, one that doesn't adhere the Washington Post "We Love the Davises!" party line. Unfortunately, a certain other Post reporter might as well just join the JMDD campaign, her reporting has been so biased throughout this campaign cycle. Luckily, the Post also has excellent reporters like Marc Fisher. Here's what he has to say:
...a New York City mayor traveling to Dulles to make an endorsement in a Fairfax County election that will draw fewer voters than there are sidewalk vendors in the Big Apple? That's just a sign of how desperate the Davises are to beat challenger Chap Petersen.
Need another such sign? Check out this new TV ad that Devolites Davis is airing, accusing Petersen of being "wrong and out of touch... when it comes to guns, our children's safety and illegal aliens." The ad slams the Democrat for voting when he was a state delegate "to allow illegals to attend our state universities."
Is this the same Sen. Davis who told me proudly and repeatedly last month that politicians who are out there this campaign season pushing for a crackdown on illegal immigrants are "demagoguing this to death and creating an atmosphere of hate?" Is this the same Sen. Davis who repeated the line about demagoguing at a debate in front of the Mantua Civic Association?
Great job by Marc Fisher skewering the pathetic, lying, duplicitous candidacy of Tom, er, Mrs. Tom, er...the Davis Family.

Marc Fisher is widely read (PM - 11/2/2007 8:53:08 AM)
Marc Fisher is a great columnist -- and I don't agree with him all the time.
I wish the Post had more like him -- the Post could save lots of money dumping the Krauthammers, Gersons, Wills, etc.
BTW, the Fairfax Times had a front page, complimentary article on Janet O., with a photo showing her standing with Joe Samaha. http://www.fairfaxti...
Agreed. We definitely need more Marc Fishers (Lowell - 11/2/2007 8:56:25 AM)
and fewer reporters who are so afraid to appear "liberal" that they bend over double-backwards to show that they're "fair and balanced" (the result in practice is that they actually end up being strongly pro-Republican).
Must read all posts, all the time (PM - 11/2/2007 8:58:59 AM)
I now see that Lowell already covered the Fairfax Times reference --
okay -- this part is new -- the only reference to Cooch is on A5.
I saw the TV ad last night (Pain - 11/2/2007 9:01:05 AM)
..and thought the exact same thing. "Lets all jump on the Illegal Immigration boat". Unfortunately, they aren't bright enough to know it's about to sink.
From your keyboard... (Doug in Mount Vernon - 11/2/2007 11:05:11 AM)
...to God's ears!
I sure hope you are correct. I am watching the Pandak-Stewart race as a sign on where this is going.
To be honest. (Pain - 11/2/2007 11:13:31 AM)
I think it might take longer than this years election cycle for the dam to burst on this issue, unfortunately. But I have no doubt it will burst eventually. There's not enough propaganda in the world to float this boat indefinitely and I think the public will eventually catch on to the shell game the republicans are playing.
Glad you noticed the Post/Bloomberg article, too (TheGreenMiles - 11/2/2007 9:54:26 AM)
I was so confused when I saw the Post article touting Bloomberg's endorsement of Davis as such a great thing. My reaction was, isn't that a sign of total desperation and using her husband's connections to try to get attention? Shouldn't the headline have been, "Davis, in Fight of Her Life, Hopes for Boost from Bloomberg"?
I've given up all hope on that particular reporter (Lowell - 11/2/2007 9:58:12 AM)
In the article on JMDD giving out Chap's home phone # and publicizing the names of his wife and children, the article (written by the same reporter) was like 50/50, "he said, she said." But this endorsement article is like 95% rah-rah JMDD, with 5% at the end "oh, by the way, Chap received an endorsement too." As I said above, why doesn't this reporter just join the Davis campaign and be done with it?
