Deeds Dispatches Staff to Targeted Senate Races

Five Fundraisers with Future Deeds PAC Will Get Out the Vote Throughout Virginia

RICHMOND-The Future Deeds PAC temporarily shut down operations today, sending all five members of the fundraising team to targeted State Senate races to work in the field and get out the vote for the November elections. Including this in-kind donation of staff, Senator Deeds has now contributed or raised almost one quarter million dollars for this year's legislative races.

"At this late stage, the most important contribution we can make is to provide people who can spread our candidates' positive message and get voters to the polls on November 6," said Honorary Chairman Senator Creigh Deeds. "Next week we have an historic opportunity to take control of the State Senate and give Governor Kaine the partners he needs to keep Virginia moving forward."

*Margot Bolon, based in Charlottesville, will return to her hometown of Vienna in Northern Virginia to work for Chap Petersen in the 34th District.

*Tom Kramer, who handles fundraising in both Richmond and Hampton Roads, will return to his hometown of Newport News to assist the efforts of John Miller's campaign in the 1st District.

*Megan Wood, based in Richmond, will return to her native Stafford to join the Albert Pollard campaign in the 28th District.

*Erin Harkins, currently working in Arlington, will join the campaign of Karen Schultz in the 27th District.

*Joshua Phoebus, deputy finance director in Roanoke, will join up with Mike Breiner in the 22nd District.

Thank you Creigh Deeds!

hey lowell-

let's set the record straight on this one. Creigh has done an admirable job for the Senator from Bath in these races... he has campaigned tirelessly for the Senate candidates. He should be comended.

But watch about saying that he has givne $298K to the races? Check that report.

The 298K was what he has spent...but more than 2/3 of that was on staff, overhead, and travel expenses.

he has only given less than 50K. you should correct that.

He's not been a big financial player in the Senate races. the big players are Dick Saslaw, Mary Margaret Whipple, Tim Kaine, Mark Warner (for the Senate).

You're right. (Lowell - 10/27/2007 12:14:55 PM)
Thanks for setting the record straight, "recordstraight." :)

Disappointment (HaleyDem - 10/27/2007 7:19:13 PM)
Creigh raised that much money for the Senate races but has contributed only $50,000 of it? I sure hope to see Future Deeds PAC spend 100% of it's money by Election Day. It would be a big let down if he'd spent this year talking about the Senate but was really running around the state advancing his own agenda for 2009.
