Wow, check out these large contributions received today by Republicans Tricia Stall (1st Senate district) and Charles Poindexter (9th House district)
*$100,000 from Dominion Leadership Trust to Poindexter
*$100,000 from Citizens for the Commonwealth to Stall
*$15,000 from McDonnell for Virginia to Stall
*$8,200 from the Virginia Senate Republican Leadership Trust to Stall
It looks like Republicans still think that Stall and Poindexter have a shot against John Miller and Eric Ferguson, respectively. I strongly doubt it, but we'll see.
Other recent mega-donations include $93,000 from the Democratic House Caucus to Joe Bouchard in the 83rd House district, $82,000 from Dominion Leadership Trust PAC to John Welch in the 21st House district, and $77,000 from the Democratic House Caucus to Adam Tomer in the 14th House district.
There's a lot more money flying around, and there's plenty more where that came from. To keep up with it all, stay tuned to the amazing resource known as VPAP.

there is no one at her hq making calls. why waste the money?
scary
so what is up?
Stall's HQ's a disaster (Peninsula Pete - 10/26/2007 8:27:17 PM)
The grassroots, that Stall had been depending upon, are gone. The campaign manager, hand picked by Bob McDonnell, has alienated just about every grassroots worker, that Stall had in her camp. She is nasty, bossy and talks down to anyone who doesn't jump to her beckon and call. Even Stall's number one supporter, Cary Nunally was overheard saying about the campaign manager "Victoria is a pure bitch and has driven more people away, than we could ever replace".
Stall has been in a tailspin since the Virginia Senate Republican Leadership Trust issued its poll in late September that showed Miller 70% - Stall 30%. Tricia was in one nasty mood for several weeks after that came out. Its clear that the Republicans don't have any other races that they have any close chance of winning and Stall has been running nothing but a negative, nasty, smear campaign against Miller, so they're dumping their money where they feel comfortable, with Stall.
Rerras didn't do too well in that survey either, so we will probably see a Democrat majority by 1 or maybe 2 seats after the election.
With Brian Kirwin telling John Welch what to do, we can bank on that seat going to the Democrat Bouchard. I'm hoping that Kirwin gets a job with the Republican that will run against Warner for the Senate, then we can guarantee it in our column!

Dominion Leadership (Teddy - 10/26/2007 9:14:06 PM)
must be a special Republican PAC under someon's sponsorship or purview. Who?
"House Speaker Bill Howell... (Lowell - 10/26/2007 9:24:35 PM)
...set up this committee in 2002 to raise money for Republican candidates." See
here for more. The PAC has given $2,749,242 to Republican'ts since its inception.
This is nauseating (Johnny Longtorso - 10/26/2007 9:31:54 PM)
We desperately need campaign finance reform in Virginia. It's no wonder a majority of the seats are uncontested, when candidates have to rely on mega-donations from PACs to run a viable campaign.
First job of the soon-to-be Democratic Senate... (Kindler - 10/26/2007 10:08:10 PM)
...should be a campaign finance reform bill. Elections weren't made to be bought.
