I mentioned here that Virginia Democrats filed a complaint with the State Board of Elections because of Bob McDonnell?s sketchy campaign finance tactics. The SBE has now turned the case over to the Commonwealth?s Attorney for Richmond.Mark Bergman, spokesperson for the state Democratic Party, said ?[w]e need an attorney general that is above reproach, and Bob McDonnell has proven, time and time again, that he will do anything to avoid disclosing who is financing his campaign.?
The fact that McDonnell has gone to such great lengths to hide who his donors are has to make one wonder what he is hiding from Virginia?s voters.
[UPDATE by Lowell: Waldo Jaquith points out that the Republicans have filed a suit of their own, complaining that the Kaine campaign used a picture of an elephant (!!!) in one of their mailings. That's it; nothing illegal, just a picture of a pachyderm. Maybe the Republicans would have been happier if the Kaine campaign had used a picture of lions? Or tigers? Or bears? Oh my!]
