More "Family Values" in Action

This time from the son of repugnant talk radio host "Dr." Laura Schlessinger. Deryk, a 21-year old solider stationed in Iraq, is under investigation by the Army for his MySpace page which includes various depictions of rape, murder, child molestation and other things that I refuse to post on the front page of this website. Click on the link to the Salt Lake Tribune and read about it for yourself, if you have the stomach.
Obviously Deryk Schlessinger is the exception, not the rule, when it comes to our brave men and women who are put in harm's way on a daily basis. But here's a comment left by another solider on the site that just makes your skin crawl:
"Yes . . . F---ING Yes!!!" said one blog entry on the Schlessinger site. "I LOVE MY JOB, it takes everything reckless and deviant and heathenistic and just overall bad about me and hyper focuses these traits into my job of running around this horrid place doing nasty things to people that deserve it . . . and some that don't."

Why is this a story now? (Mark - 10/14/2007 1:55:38 AM)
I wonder why this appears now, with no context as to time. The original article in this posting is from May of 2007.
I would at least expect that the fact that the Army and 'Dr. Laura' tried to explain this away by saying that it could be fake, and in the Army's remarks, saying that it could have been done by that evil enemy.
There is a lot more story here. Please cover it.
I agree, I'm confused. (Lowell - 10/14/2007 6:31:25 AM)
This story appeared back in May, why are we talking about it now? Is there any new information on this?
I didn't notice it back in May (Chris Guy - 10/14/2007 2:15:59 PM)
and I don't want to let someone off the hook just because the media has these past few months.
I would love to see some follow-up info in this. If it's out there, I sure as heck can't find it.
Agreed on the need for follow-up (Lowell - 10/14/2007 2:44:15 PM)
Any idea why there hasn't been any?
Only theories (Chris Guy - 10/14/2007 3:41:54 PM)
Investigation still ongoing? More scandals than there are reporters?
Thanks Chris for reminding of us.... (Dianne - 10/14/2007 10:13:39 AM)
of the rightwing's "family" values. I've been disgusted with her for years and years, but I wasn't aware of this story. She probably drove her son crazy over the years. Remember how they found her mother dead after a long period....seems Dr. Laura never communicated with her own mother so her mother lay dead and alone for quite awhile.
She is a sicko....like so many of them.
Wanna hear something hysterical (Chris Guy - 10/14/2007 3:45:03 PM)
A right-wing blogger called this "guilt by association" for Dr. Laura. Yeah, she makes millions by telling people how to love their lives and what horrible parents they are, but it's not supposed to apply to her? Wingnuts never cease to amaze me.
sorry, "live" their lives (Chris Guy - 10/14/2007 3:45:34 PM)
