Attention, Mike Henry, get on the phone and call Al Gore, right now. Clinton/Gore '08 is going to sound pretty darned good a week from now.
All of us who have been praying for Al Gore to enter the race for the presidency, are holding our breath until Friday when the Nobel Peace Prize will be awarded because our man Al is the leading contender.
The question we're all asking is this: if he wins the Nobel Prize, can Gore possibly not run?
Get ready, because today's announcement of the prize for Physiology or Medicine extended a stiff middle finger directly at the anti-science crowd that makes ups the Grim Old Party in politics, the intentionally ignorant Bush Republicans. The award went to Mario R. Capecchi, Martin J. Evans and Oliver Smithies for their discoveries of "principles for introducing specific gene modifications in mice by the use of embryonic stem cells".
Yes, these are the smartest people in the world, they know what they're doing, and they gave the highest science prize in the world to the boogeyman of the American political right: Stem Cells. The world is sick to death of the idiots who control American government.
Now, if that's not a hint at what Gore fans can expect on Friday, I don't know what is. We've been waiting for almost a year, and finally the waiting ends this week.
Keep Rush Limbaugh away from the painkillers. Michael J. Fox can throw a party. And Al Gore fans everywhere will be watching Friday to hear the starting gun of what could be the triumphant return to the spotlight of the "Goracle".
Don't get me wrong, I'd pull my support of Edwards and toss it to Gore if he ran. But he won't.
I'm sure Hill's folks are on it.
Al Gore would be my dream candidate! Especially after hearing him give the speech at DAR Constitution Hall back on MLK Day. He was amazing!
Gore will not get into this race. In 2008, the Democrats are very happy with their choices, and the Republicans are not.
Al Gore is a great activist and party leader, and a lousy politician. Let's have him stick to what he's really good at and where he can make the most change.
