Scarborough backs down to Jim Webb

This is hilarious -- check out how conservative pundit Joe Scarborough goes from defending Blackwater against "Iraqi losers" to agreeing with Jim Webb that these "cowboys" need to be out of combat operations. (H/T TPM)

Man, it's nice to have a Senator we can be proud of in this seat compared to the knucklehead he knocked out of office.

and no thats not a typo

I'll take Webb over an empty suit any day of the week

What a waste of electrons (Bubby - 10/8/2007 3:51:14 PM)
I could get the same kind of ignorant, misinformed opinion about the situation in Iraq down at the feedmill standing around the loading dock.  But those guys don't get paid to run a news program.

Not sure about TPMs write overs (ub40fan - 10/8/2007 8:59:13 PM)
Sure Joe Scarborough was just yaking about.... and casually defending Blackwater. His real point was the Iraqis should have stepped up by now to secure their country. Just useless banter by boneheads in the morning.

Now Senator Webb does what he's always done ... made plain sense and profound sharp points to remind the taking heads (and the rest of the world) just how F*#$K@D up everything is. A mini Abu Ghrabe (sp?) ... An Arabic world PR diaster and another USA national embarassment.

I wonder if Senator Warner was listening?

Yeah... (KainIIIC - 10/8/2007 10:48:50 PM)
Joe's point was that Iraqis shouldn't criticize us for using Blackwater when their own security forces can't handle the missions that blackwater is handling, but then goes on to agree that not only blackwater should go home, but so should our soldiers, and that the iraqis should take care fo their own "damn" country.

But that's a ridiculous point ... (Rob - 10/8/2007 11:38:06 PM)
... because the Iraqis are unable to secure a nation that was plunged into chaos by the U.S. invasion and post-invasion management, they should be fine with U.S. mercenaries that do a negligent job of security?

Your right, Save one (JScott - 10/9/2007 12:54:56 PM)
Save one, Allen, I can't recall a Senator I have not been "proud" to have in Washington in my lifetime. Pride is something that should remain apolitical. These gentleman I hope are Virginians first and most have done so regardless of party. I hold both John Warner and Chuck Robb up as two of the most admirable.

Gangbanging Mika (Kathy Gerber - 10/9/2007 11:13:13 PM)
What is most noticeable about this video is how thoroughly Mika is silenced.  She's interrupted at least three times and not only by Joe but also by whoever spliced the youtube.  Then Joe talks over her.

What does she think about Blackwater?  This clip does not give a clue.  As for the "castration" segment with Webb, the big guys are talking then and she ceases to exist. This dynamic goes on about a million times a work day in this country; it's so commonplace that we don't even see it.

Here's another clip wherein she attempts to assert herself.  If Joe's castrated in the clip above, watch the one below to see Mika get gangbanged.  There's something truly pathetic about this.

Who is Mika? (Teddy - 10/10/2007 6:35:01 PM)
Since I'm without a television, I have no understanding of this program--- is Mika the woman, and is she a co-anchor? Or, is she merely decorative interest? If she's got some sort of co-anchor or news position, why doesn't she simply talk over this self-important Joe guy? Shout him down if she has something crucial to say. Interrupt him for a change, slam the table loudly with her hand and grab attention?  I've found it works when you want to get a hearing and thus override the testicles on display. The guys are usually stunned, at least long enough to let you get a word in edgewise.  And then you can always say, when they recover and butt in, "As I was saying when I was so rudely interrupted..." Maybe she'd lose her job, but I'll bet she could find another one if SHE displayed some balls.
