Anyway, I thought it would be interesting to take the same basic script and turn it right around on Jerry Kilgore. Let's try!
"I'm Tim Kaine, candidate for Governor, and my campaign sponsored this ad."[Narrator]Eavesdropping on political opponents, a growing crisis, jeopardizing trust in our government and security.
Tim Kaine opposes eavesdropping and other political corruption. And Jerry Kilgore? Kilgore supports eavesdropping on his political opponents, takes money from a company he used to lobby for that employ illegal immigrants, and is part of the corrupt Scott County political machine run by his family.
Eavesdropping, campaign contributions from companies that employ illegal immigrants, and political corruption by his family in his Scott County? What part of "illegal" does Jerry Kigore not understand?
So, who wants to help us make this into an ad?
P.S. Everything in OUR ad is factually accurate. Kilgore's ad? Lies. For starters, Tim Kaine has NEVER said he supported "taxpayer funded job centers" or "instate tuition discounts" for illegals. Instead, he has said, correctly, that controlling immigration into the United States is the responsibility of the FEDERAL government. Kaine has also stated that the Herndon day laborer center is a LOCAL issue to be decided by the residents of Herndon, without harmful grandstanding by an unscrupulous, pandering Republican politician who just so happens to be running for Governor.
Interestingly, the only "evidence" Kilgore supplies for his absurd charges against Tim Kaine are two editorials(!) by the far-right-wing Washington Times, owned and operated by Rev. Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church. By the way, members of this church believe that Rev. Moon is the new Messiah, apparently supplanting Jesus Christ. Well, I guess Jerry Kilgore will take his friends wherever he can get them!
