Washington Post "Winners and Losers"

There's an interesting list of "Winners and Losers" this week at the Washington Post'sVirginia Politics blog.  The big winner is Karen Schulz, the Democratic candidate for state senate in the 27th district.  According to the Virginia Politics blog:

...Schultz got a boost this week when the Northern Virginia Daily ran a story about how the husband of her GOP opponent, Jill Holtzman Vogel, "has been lobbying Congress for more immigrant-friendly policies," even as his wife seeks to make illegal immigration a major theme of her campaign.

Nice.

Meanwhile, losers this week include:

*Del. Bob Marshall (R-Prince William), who was booted from the Virginia immigration commission for being "too combative."

*Sen. Ken Cuccinelli (R-Mars), for "his decision to mail out an advertisement in an envelope that looked like an official Fairfax County income tax bill."

*The RPV staff, for having "posted a profanity-laced video on their website that mocked Democratic Senate candidate Mark R. Warner."

*Secretary of the Commonwealth Kate Hanley and Tim Kaine's appointments office, for appointing Esam S. "Jihad way" Omeish to the immigration panel, the same one Bob Marshall was too "combative" for.

Impressed that the Post is this tuned in (snolan - 9/28/2007 3:47:35 PM)
perhaps it's just me - but it seems like the Post is more tuned into this year's elections than it has been in the past...

very cool that they are catching some of the same things RK is catching.

It's also interesting to note that while Shultz has received 59% of her money from the localities in her Senate district, Holtzman-Vogel has only received 42% of her money from within the district.
