Limbaugh Called Hagel "Senator Betrayus"

Either someone at MoveOn has been secretly listening to Rush Limbaugh, or "great minds think alike".  Ha, check it out:

Rush Limbaugh has called the MoveOn.org "General Petraeus or General Betray Us?" advertisement "contemptible" and "indecent," but months earlier, on his radio show, he told his audience that he had a new name for Senator Chuck Hagel: "Senator Betrayus." Though Limbaugh has taken exception to accusations that he has attacked the patriotism of his political opponents, the "Senator Betrayus" remark is one of several instances in which Limbaugh has done so.

Media Matters provides several more examples of how Rush Limbaugh questions the patriotism of those he disagrees with (including Chuck Hagel, a Republican and Vietnam War hero):

*A headline on Limbaugh's website read, "You're Damn Right, American Left; We're Questioning Your Patriotism."  Subtle, eh?

*On August 21, 2006, Limbaugh said, "I am going to challenge the patriotism of people who disagree with [President Bush] because the people that disagree with him want to lose."  Verrry nice.

It goes on and on like this.  Look, I wasn't a big fan of MoveOn's ad about General Petraeus, but here's what I want to know: When is the U.S. Senate going to pass a resolution condemning Rush Limbaugh for calling one of its own members "Senator Betrayus?"  C'mon, guys, let's be consistent here if you're going to be passing ridiculous, meaningless, non-binding resolutions expressing your outrage at various forms of free speech in America today.

Actually, here's a better idea:  spend your time getting us out of the mess in Iraq, preventing the polar ice caps from melting, and fixing our nation's crumbling infrastructure rather than wasting all our time with this crap.

Rush Limbaugh Condemns Name-Calling. (spotter - 9/23/2007 7:56:27 AM)
Hilarious, if it weren't on such a serious issue.  Sorta like Squeaky Wheel's webmaster telling us all to mind our manners.  Rush Limbaugh is a shameless drug-addicted blowhard.  And not a very patriotic one.  To me, he has always sounded like a druggie in the first throes of detox, with his incessant whining, self-serving truth-twisting, and occasional shouts of outrage.  Entertaining for awhile, perhaps, but dangerous in the long run.

If he is a time travelor, he came straight from hitlers germany.

Just a junkie (Alicia - 9/25/2007 9:38:02 AM)
I mean a hate filled junkie with no basis for his own self proclaimed patriotism.

Doesn't he think people like himself belong in jail?  Ohh that's right - only all the other junkies should go to jail.

Maybe the Senate will take up a resolution defending Hagel - considering he is one of the only STAND UP Senator the GOP has.

I guess the GOP would rather have a bunch of chickenhawks sending others to die - while ignoring the intelligence and hard earned perspective of those who actually served when it was their time.  Figures.
