Democratic Values (Claire Gastanaga - 9/21/2007 1:16:04 PM)
Isn't there just more than a little irony in the juxtaposition of this DPVA ad bashing Frederick for being "ineffective" in failing to get his anti-immigrant legislation passed with the post below warning the GOP about the rising tide of Hispanic voters?
Progressives worked hard to kill Mr. "Hispanic when politically convenient or financially rewarding" Frederick's mean-spirited legislation.
Now the DPVA thinks that it will help their candidate and the Party's long term goal of achieving a legislative majority to out fear monger Frederick or suggest by implication that the Democratic candidate running against him would be more effective in getting similar c--p passed?
Why should Hispanic voters trade ineffective Republican Frederick for a more effective anti-immigrant Democrat?
This is simply pointing out Frederick's hypocrisy (Lowell - 9/21/2007 1:22:00 PM)
and ineffectiveness, nothing more. Frederick's district can do a lot better than his brand of failed "leadership" on any number of issues.
Nice try but (Claire Gastanaga - 9/21/2007 2:38:22 PM)
when you criticize someone for being ineffective in passing specific legislation (including a bill that called for the Governor to sign a statewide MOU for the State Police, a bill he opposed, you are suggesting clearly that the candidate you want to replace him will be effective in getting the legislation passed ... a point driven home by the fact that the candidate the Democrats are running against him laid out the ten point plan on immigration that Jeff is saying in the commercial is redundant of legislation he proposed.
