Jill Holtzman Vogel, candidate for the 27th District Senate race, today withdrew from the LWV Forum, scheduled for tomorrow evening, September 19th. The invitation for this Forum was extended in early July, which she accepted. The Loudoun League of Women Voters is very disappointed that the voters of Loudoun County will not get the chance to hear Jill Holtzman Vogel directly answer questions regarding issues that are important to our county. Our style of forum uniquely combines the use of area reporters and editors as questioners, followed by an open microphone for members of the audience to ask questions directly to the candidates.
The 27th District Senate Candidate Forum will still take place tomorrow night. Karen Schultz (D) and Donald Marro (I) have indicated that they still want to "Meet the Press" and the public and answer their questions. The media and public are welcome to attend.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government. The League also takes seriously their commitment towards providing information about candidates on issues for the voting public.

So what's Jill Holtzman Vogel's excuse for ducking this debate? Why is she afraid to face the voters of Loudoun County? Why is she afraid of Karen Schultz? Perhaps it has something to do with this? Hmmmm.
New filing: Schultz has cash advantage going into election seasonSchultz campaign building momentum with bi-partisan support
WINCHESTER - State Senate candidate Karen Schultz continues to build momentum with almost $100,000 more cash on hand than her opponent, according to campaign finance filings released this week.
Schultz, who has been a community leader in the Shenandoah Valley for more than 30 years, has $240,602 cash on hand, according to the filing. Jill Holtzman-Vogel, a Washington-connected attorney, has $150,590 on hand. This figure includes a $50,000 loan that Vogel gave herself two days before the filing deadline.
"Every day, I see momentum building for moderate, common-sense leadership for Virginia," Schultz said. "I'm humbled by the outpouring of bi-partisan support from my community, from people I meet at the doors to campaign volunteers to small donors who give what they can. I look forward to serving my community in Richmond and taking a common-sense approach to the challenges that face our Commonwealth."
Schultz is running for Senate in the 27th District, which encompasses the city of Winchester, all of Frederick and Clarke counties, and portions of Fauquier and Loudoun counties.
It's a shame that Vogel is not meeting the public with her opponent. She needs to work to get the rules fairly applied with LVW...and get out there and meet her opponent mano-a mano.
