Ben at NLS made the argument that a convention favors Gilmore over Davis, and that's what's more likely to happen. Hard to argue with that. It also makes you wonder. Despite Davis' recent claims, what would a decision to hold a nominating convention COMBINED with a loss by his wife to Chap Peterson this November do to his decision-making process?
Memo to Republicans: Look at what happened in the 28th Senate District when the GOP tried to keep Chichester's handpicked successor from getting their nomination to face Albert Pollard. It doesn't work if you have multiple conservative alternatives opposing him and he walks away the winner with 40% of the vote (So for Gilmore's sake, don't run Pat). And if you have a primary that requires voters to sign a B.S. GOP loyalty pact, Dems and Independents will still vote in it...and laugh at you in the process.
P.S. - I will use any excuse I can muster to show this picture of Tom and Jeannemarie.
