...Stall is still struggling to fully explain her online signature [of a "petition advocating the end of government involvement in public education"]. Stall said she signed the petition because she disliked the way that federal and state lawmakers mandated certain benchmarks in the classroom, rather than relying on local teachers and parents for expertise."My intention in doing so is less government involvement and more parental involvement in education," Stall said.
The note that she added on the Internet site has been removed. Her campaign site insists in bold print that she's a "steadfast supporter of public education." Stall said she volunteered on committees for the PTA and worked closely with teachers and principals on the Peninsula. "I have always been an advocate of trying to improve the public school system," she said.
So, let's get this straight: Tricia Stall signs a petition advocating "the end of government involvement in public education," but then says she's "trying to improve the public school system." Does anyone believe this? I mean, besides the people who still think there's a connection between 9/11 and Saddam Hussein, that George W. Bush is a great president, that the earth is flat and the moon made of green cheese.
Go John Miller!
