Heretick Receives Endorsement of the Police Benevolent Association; President Says, "Councilman Heretick is a Friend to Law Enforcement"Portsmouth -Steve Heretick, Democratic candidate for State Senate in the 13th District, today received the endorsement of the Police Benevolent Association. In awarding their support, the President of the Association, Jason Knorowski said, "We are very pleased to support Steve Heretick for the State Senate. As a City Councilman he has been a loyal and trusted friend to law enforcement and we know he will remain a close friend for us in the State Senate. He understands what needs to be done to keep our streets and neighborhoods safe." Fred Quayle received the PBA endorsement in 1999.
On receiving the endorsement, Councilman Heretick said, "I feel very honored by the support of our First Responders. Our police officers are on the front lines every day, working a beat, taking care of our communities and our families. I will continue to be a partner and ally, ensuring they have the necessary tools to continue to do the very important work they do for us ever day. I, and my family, like the citizens in my district, recognize and appreciate the risks and sacrifices they and their families make, and I want them to know I will be an advocate for them as their State Senator in Richmond.
The Virginia Police Benevolent Association, a division of the Southern States Police Benevolent Association, represents over 2700 police officers and has 19 chapters in Virginia.
