Fmr. Delegate Albert Pollard has made his views known on every importnat issue that voters in the 28th Senate District are concerned with: Transportation, Immigration, and of course the Enviornment. Now you can add one more issue that Albert's taken a principled stand on: the abuser fees.

From the Fauquier Times-Democrat:

"Not only are the abuser fees wrong, they're a larger sign of a broken system," he said.
The fees need to be re-evaluated, and repealed until both parties can find a solution that protects the interests of Virginia residents, he said.
Don't "amend" them, don't "re-evaluate" them, get rid of them. Other local Democratic candidates speaking out against the fees include Carlos Del Toro, Bill Day, and Karen Schultz.

The GOP nominee in the 28th, Richard Stuart? Not so much.

His opponent, Richard Stuart took a slightly different approach and said the fines shouldn't be completely eliminated. Instead, they should be amended to include out-of-state drivers and to target true abusers.
"I'm not one of these out there saying we need to repeal it entirely," he said.

Glad to hear it! (Eric - 8/23/2007 8:11:01 PM)
The line becomes clearer everyday: those who understand that the CRF's were/are wrong and need to removed and those who support an unfair and irresponsible fee system.  Those that understand responsible government (that the majority of Virginians desire) and those that only understand their own flat-earth ideologies.
